An Egyptian court on Monday adjourned the trial of the two sons of Egypt's former president, Hosni Mubarak, on charges of insider trading until Sept. 8, reported state television.
Seven others were accused of assisting Alaa and Gamal Mubarak in manipulating the stocks of a local bank to make illegal gains.
All defendants, aside from two people on the run, appeared for the first trial hearing and pleaded not guilty.
The adjournment was made to allow lawyers the time to examine the documents of the case and prepare their arguments, presiding judge Mohammed Reda said.
The hearing was held at a makeshift courtroom in the Police Aacademy on the outskirts of the Egyptian capital.
Mubarak's sons have been in detention since they were acquitted last month of other corruption charges.
Mubarak, 84, is serving a life sentence after a court found him guilty of complicity in the killing of protesters during the popular uprising that forced him out of power last year. ?
