After over five months in the saddle, Kogi State Governor Idris Wada has sent a list of 18 commissioner nominees to the state House of Assembly for screening, confirmation and approval.
The governor stated in the letter that he was sending the list of those who will work with him to build an enduring democracy and transform the state.
The Speaker of the state Assembly, Hon. Abdullahi Bello, while reading the letter on the floor of the House, stressed the need for the immediate commencement of screening of the nominees.
He disclosed that the screening would commence today (Thursday) and directed the nominees to submit 35 copies of their Curriculum Vitae (CV) to the House.
The commissioners designate include Barr. Hadiza Onotu, Puke Anthony, Zakari Alfa, Barr. Umoru Mohammed,Dr. Omede Idris, Barr. Acholo Thomas and Abdullahi Ibrahim, Mameh Patience,Mrs. Grace Elebiyo,Abdulrahaman Wuya, Yabagi Bologi,Barr. Ndamadu Ali and Engr. Stephen Mayaki.
Equally included as commissioners designate include Dr. Abdulmumin Usman, Ali Ajuh, Joe Abrahams,Simon Olutimayin and Dr. Olufemi Bolarin.
The immediate past attorney general and commissioner for justice,Mr Joe Abrahams, was the only returnee in the list.
