Tragedy was averted yesterday in Okene in the central axis of Kogi State, when a car suspected to be on a suicide mission exploded near Living Faith Church with the worshipers escaping bywhiskers.
No one seemed to know the actual destination of the suicide bombers our correspondent reported that the car was moving towards Okene, from Obehira area of the local government when it exploded, on the main road, around the Eid praying ground, before the Agassa junction.

The Kogi State Police Command spokesman, Mr Ile Simon, who confirmed the arrest in Lokoja on Sunday, said that the suspect was driving in a car and heading towards the church when he was accosted by security men.
Ile said that it was while the suspect was still undergoing screening that a “big’’ explosion occurred.
He said that the security men deployed to the church then arrested the suspect before he could escape.
Confirming the explosion the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) said 2 suspects were arrested in connection with the Okene explosion. It added that the suspects? were being interrogated by security agents, saying that no life was lost.
He said 2 suspects have been arrested by security personnel before they could escape and are? been interrogated.
?The agency spokes person, Yushau A. Shuaib, in a statement, said it was a car explosion, but confirmed that no life was lost.
