The Minister of Education, Prof. Ruqayyatu? Rufa'i has condoled the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) on the death of three of its members in an auto crash.
The minister also sympathised with the President of NANS, Mr Dauda Mohammed who was involved in an auto crash on Abuja-Lokoja and with prayed for his quick recovery.
The three students died on Friday on Emure/Owo expressway in Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State.
?Rufa'i in a statement on Monday in Abuja described their death as a great loss to the nation.
The statement named the three members as Awopegba Oluwaseun of Federal University of Technology Akure, Mr? Akintola Abiodun, Adeyemi Collage of Education, Ondo and Miss Oyikan Olotu, Ondo State School of Midwifery, Akure.
“The auto crash is very sad and shocking; based on my recent interaction with some of them during the Nigerian Outstanding Leadership Award ceremony on Thursday in Abuja.
“They displayed a rare sense of patriotism and leadership qualities for the future generation of leaders to emulate,” she said.
The minister commiserated with the families of the deceased and prayed that God would give them the the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
“The ministry shares in the grief and sorrow suffered by the families of the deceased, the leadership of the union and the government and people of the state over the incident.''
