Ramadan: Aliyu Urges Muslim Leaders To Show True Face Of Islam

Gov. Babangida Aliyu of Niger on Friday urged Muslim leaders in the country to reflect the true face of Islam.

He said in his message to mark the beginning of Ramadan that Muslim leaders could do this by watching their utterances as they usher in the fast.

Aliyu said that good intentions, prayers and firmness of purpose in the pursuit of good deeds were the conditions for reaping the benefits of the holy month.

The governor reminded Muslims that as one of the pillars of Islam, Ramadan is a period that people should conduct themselves very well in order to maximize the spiritual and physical benefits inherent in it.

“This is why all Muslim faithful should give the month all the necessary attention by being proactive in decisions and actions that will ensure their full participation in the fast.''?

Aliyu urged Muslims to use the holy month of Ramadan to pray to the Almighty Allah for the quick resolution of the security challenges currently confronting the nation.
