Three policemen lost in Bauchi state lost their lives on Thursday when unknown gunmen opened fire on them at a patrol centre along Bauchi Gombe road.
The gunmen who were said to have attacked the security officers around 8:49 am also carted away the three guns belonging to the slain policemen.
LEADERSHIP gathered that the victims include two inspectors and a corporal who had just been just deployed to the patrol centre.
According to sources there were four policemen on patrol but one of them fled into bush when the attackers whose number was yet to be ascertained attacked the place.
Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer [PPRO] of the Bauchi state command, ASP Muhammad Auyo said the matter was being investigated with a view to unraveling the culprits.
