The Police AIG in-charge of Zone 9, Umuahia, Mr Solomon Olusegun, has described Anambra as one of the states that have the lowest crime rate in the country.
Olusegun made the observation in Awka on Friday while speaking with newsmen after a visit to the State Governor, Mr Peter Obi.
He explained that he had a confidential discussion with Obi on how to strengthen the existing partnership between the state government and the police.
“I came to see the governor on how to make the police work better to enhance the fight against crime and continue the superlative partnership between government and the police in the state,” the AIG said.
Speaking, Obi expressed satisfaction with the performance of the state police command in combating crime.
He noted that the command had justified the state government’s donation of equipment and other logistics to it to enhance the security of lives and property in the state.
The governor restated his administration’s continued support and assistance to the command in the fight against crime, adding that within the next three months, he would offer the police more assistance. (NAN)
