Transactions on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) closed positively on Friday as stocks of highly capitalised companies recorded price gain.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the All- Share Index at the end of trading appreciated by 176.21 basis points or 0.76 per cent to close at 23,292.80.
This was against the 23,116.59 points recorded on Thursday.
The market capitalisation of listed securities grew by N57 billion or 0.77 per cent to close at N7.413 trillion when compared with the N7.356 trillion transacted on Thursday.
NewGold led the gainers’ chart with N15 to close at N2, 529 per unit.
Dangote Cement followed with a gain of N4 to close at N120 per share, while Unilever share price appreciated by N1.07 to close at N34.07 per cent.
Conoil gained 51k to close at N25.50 per share, while Cement Company of Northern Nigeria (CCNN) rose by 16k to close at N4.48 per share.
On the other hand, Arbico recorded the highest price loss of N1 to close at N19.14 per share.
Lafarge Wapco trailed with 32k to close at N42.28 per share, while Stanbic IBTC and Cadbury fell by 20k each to close at N7 and 14.80 per share, respectively.
Zenith Bank shares price depreciated by 19k to close at N14.50 per share.
NAN reports that at the end of transactions, investors bought 146.27 million shares worth N1.3 billion traded in 3,864 deals.
This was against 378.11 million shares valued N3.1 transacted in 4,004 deals on Thursday.
