Two Air Force Officers and two businessmen were yesterday killed by unknown gunmen in separate attacks carried out in Kano Metropolis.
The killing of the two officers occurred around Sa’adatu Rimi College along Zaria Road at 11.30am, while the two businessmen were in Walawai area in Hotoro Quarters. ???
An eye witness confirmed to our correspondent that the two officers were attacked opposite Sa’adatu Rimi College inside their car as gunmen reportedly opened fire on them, killing them instantly.
It was also gathered that the gunmen had tracked the victims and attacked them without their knowledge as they were about to leave the area.
Spokesman of the Joint Task Force, Lt Ikedichi Iweha confirmed the killings and said that investigation was on going to unravel the culprits.
Police source also confirmed to our correspondent that the other two businessmen were attacked inside a shop in Walawai quarters by unknown gunmen who surrounded them and fired several shots on the victims before they flee the area.
Another attack was also said to have occurred at Abdu Saye area in Hotoro Quarters as gunmen fired several shots to scare people around. An Okada rider was said to have been shot in the chest as a result of which he sustained injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
An eye witness said: ?“We don’t know their mission but they started firing warning shots to scare people around”.
However, it was gathered that members of the community had resisted the attack as they pursued the gunmen. This made them ?to abandon one of the motorcycle they rode to carry out the operation.
