Rangers In Talks With S/Africa’s Sundowns

Nigeria Premier League (NPL) club, Enugu Rangers have revealed they are in talks with Premier Soccer League (PSL) clubs; Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns over partnerships that would see the teams “exchange ideas and forge a fruitful alliance.”

Chairman of Enugu Rangers, Festus Onu said discussions among the clubs have reached an advanced stage.

“We have been in talks with officials of MamelodiSundowns and Kaizer Chiefs of South Africa. The South African league is one of the best-organised in Africa and we believe that this would have positive results as we exchange ideas and forge a fruitful alliance,” Onu told SuperSport.com.

The club chief also took the time to x-ray his side’s chances in the remaining three games of the 2011/2012 NPL season.

Enugu Rangers are currently joint-top of the 20-team table with goal difference separating them from second-placed Kano Pillars but Onu believes the Flying Antelopes will keep their composure and claim their first league success in 28 years.

“I am confident we will win the title. We have a very strong team with an experienced coach. It won’t be easy but I am absolutely certain we will win.” He said.
