The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in the forthcoming Ondo State governorship election, Chief Wale Oke, has said Ondo people’s desire for change is the basis for his gunning for the Ondo Government House and said that he was ready for the task ahead.
Speaking during a visit to the corporate headquarters of LEADERSHIP in Abuja, yesterday, as part of his familiarisation tour of media houses, Chief Oke said that Ondo people have tolerated the excruciating period of a visionless and directionless leadership under Governor Olusegun Mimiko in the last four years and retorted, “Enough is enough.”
“The Labour Party (LP) government has achieved nothing except a spectre of abandoned projects despite the huge money accruable to the state. Ondo State has the capacity to be the largest economy in the South-West, but for inefficient leadership of the last four years,” he said and promised to initiate worthwhile programmes to turn around the fortune of the State in areas of education, industrialisation, traditional institutions, infrastructural development and youth empowerment.
