Gov. Aliyu Wamakko of Sokoto State on Friday swore in Alhaji Nuhu Adamu as the new Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice of the state.
?Adamu replaced??Alhaji Inuwa Abdulkadir,? who is now the Minister of Youths Development?.
Adamu?had once served in the same capacity under a former governor of the state, Alhaji?Attahiru Bafarawa?.
?In his remark after the swearing-in, Wamakkosaid that the new commissioner's appointment?was?based on merit?and his experience .
?‘’ He is a legal luminary of repute who has carved a niche for himself in the administration of justice .
?‘’ He earns? respect from both the members of the bar and the bench?and he has an impeccable integrity,” the governor said.
He ?urged Adamu?to strive to surpass?his enviable records?in legal practice.
?‘’You should serve with the?utmost fear of God and strive to make the differences in the? state, especially in the judiciary .
?‘’ Your appointment is critical, especially?taking ?into consideration that?a vibrant?judiciary under a democratic dispensation is?indispensable, coupled with issues of human rights and the rule of law,”? he said.
?Wamakko?expressed confidence that?the new commissioner?would live up to the expectations of his administration by discharging the?responsibilities placed on his shoulders.
?The governor advised him?to carry along key?stakeholders in the state judiciary in all his activities.?( NAN)
