The Toffees and the Yellow Canaries have reportedly agreed to a fee of ?2.5 million, which allows the Nigerian centre-back to join Fenerbahce on a permanent deal.

Yobo joins the Turkish Cup holders, Fenerbahce, on a two-year deal.

The 31-year-old defender had already spent the last two seasons on loan at the Istanbul club.

The exit of Yobo reduces Everton's wage bill by around ?2.4 million per annum.

Earlier on Thursday, Everton confirmed Yobo's exit talks with Fenerbahce on their official website.

“Everton have confirmed they are in advanced discussions with Fenerbahce regarding the transfer of Joseph Yobo,” the opening statement on Everton's website read.

Before the Yellow Canaries signed on Yobo, his contract at Everton had two years left.

Yobo has been training with the Everton squad in pre-season before the deal was concluded.

At some point, the deal hit a snag with Fenerbahce being linked to another Everton centre-back, Johnny Heitinga.

He joined Everton from Olympique Marseille in 2002 and made more than 250 appearances for the Toffees.

Yobo made history by becoming the first African to captain Everton, when in 2007 he led the David Moyes' team out in their 2007 Uefa Cup tie against Larissa at Goodison Park.?
