The remains of late Madam Agatha Ufot, a renowned Kaduna-based business woman and devoted Christian was yesterday interred in her family compound off Market Road, Ikot Ndua-Iman, Onna local government area of Akwa-Ibom State.
In his tribute, the Managing Director of LEADERSHIP Holdings and son-in-law to the deceased, Mr. Abraham Nda-Isiah described her as a worthy ambassador of Christ and a powerful agent of integration.
While acknowledging that death made no difference to the exemplary life late Madam Agatha lived, Nda-Isaiah however noted that ‘the people of Ikot Ndua-Iman would miss a woman of peace and understanding’.
He charged the people of the area not to despair but rejoice, adding that late Madam Agatha has found eternal rest in the bossom of God.
In his sermon, Very Rev Father Felix Akpan of St John Catholic Church Osong Ikot Udua, Onna local government area, admonished Christians to always regard death as a blessing from God.
Quoting several portions from the Holy Bible, Rev. Father Akpan said death is an inevitable end which all mortals must face one day, but that those who died in the Lord rest from their labour and their good deeds would always follow them.
“Late Madam Agatha Ufot lived a godly life which has affected every member of this community by being at the fore-front of development. She focused her attention on things of heaven rather than the riches of the world and used her little wealth to advance the course of humanity, especially the people of Ikot Ndua-Iman,” Rev. Fr. Akpan stated.
Dr. Ufot, late Madam Ufot’s son said his mother was a woman of grace and good character who was unfazed by difficulties.
Speaking in the same vein, Mrs Nda-Isaiah, the deceased last child said mama was a complete mother who nurtured her children well and led a life worthy of emulation and was so many things to different people.
Late Madam Agatha Ufot until her death on June 19, 2012, was a Kaduna-based business woman and a devoted Christian.
