Basketball guard, Ade Dagunduro who was injured at the game against Tunisia and Nigeria’s first match may not play for the Dream Team in the remainig preliminary clash.
Still undergoing doctors attention and treatment, the player who is one of the only two guards in the Nigerian camp struggled to return against Lithuania but failed to click.
Coach Ayo Bakare who informed LEADERSHIP SPORTS of his frustrations as a result of the multiple injuries to key players in his camp said it is difficult for Dagunduro to play against France in Nigeria’s last group game.
“One of my biggest challenges are injuries. Some of my best men are on the bench injured and this is affecting the team. Don’t forget also that these players are fatigued from the Olympic qualifiers and this competition. While others are just bracing up to the Olympics Games our players are already overstretched due to the many tight games.
Don’t forget also that this team is only six weeks old and will need to grow and blend together. In a team that five players are injured and others are managing to keep up, it is difficult really.”
