The matches of the first two days of competition had been on the old Nestle Milo floor which was donated to the Nigeria Basketball Federation, NBBF after eight years of use for the Secondary Schools Championship but Thursday morning proved a new experience for the kids as they arrived the venue to behold a new synthetic basketball floor already in place.?
The excitement that greeted the floor was so overwhelming that the kids prayed for their matches to be extended beyond the normal playing time.?
According to Col. Sam Ahmedu, the Chief Executive Officer of 3jays International, the benefits of the new floor is most beneficial to players and the Nestle Nigeria Plc because it is easy to move, clean and manage.?
“The synthetic court which we’ve delivered and installed for Nestle Nigeria Plc for this year’s Nestle Milo Secondary Schools Basketball Championship has so many advantages over the wooden floor that has been use for this championship over the last eight years.
It has better shock absorption and the rate of the ball deflection is really good. The floor has good resilience and most importantly, it is eco-friendly. It’s no different from the very high standard synthetic floor that we supplied and installed for the University of Ilorin for the last West African University Games. ”?
