The Beauty In Face Masks

Why pay for a face mask when you can use basic ingredients found around the house to make your own simple, hydrating masks and scrubs? If you have oily or acne-prone skin, mud or clay-based masks are great for balancing out your skin.

Dry skin will benefit from hydrating masks made from glycerin, honey and oils. Ginseng or green tea masks are great for soothing sensitive skin. Scrubs are great for getting rid of the dead skin.

Try one prior to applying a face mask. Regular cleansing will remove surface dirt and grime, but only a facial mask will actually draw out impurities from beneath the top layers of the epidermis. Masking helps exfoliate dead skin cells and unclog pores so your toning, hydrating and protecting products work more effectively.

Masks also help stimulate blood circulation and leave your skin feeling smoother and softer. The face is the part of the body that demands a lot of attention; this is why it is very important to maintain your face using face masks.

A face mask is not something new; it has been around for quite some time to make your face attractive and healthy. With a face mask, it is possible to get skin that is sure to become the face of envy wherever you go as the skin becomes finer textured and has a better tone.

With aging, the human face experiences premature wrinkles and aging, along with fine lines on the face. This is why it is necessary to follow a good skin care regimen where you have to use good quality products having active ingredients.

With the help of a face mask, it is possible to boost the skin, and negate stress that everyday life brings to your live. The face pack not only contains a high percentage of active ingredients, but also helps in the removal of impurities and provides the skin with a fortifying lift to help enhance the quality and texture of the skin.

There is no point in using an occasional face mask as the required results will not be realized this way. It is important to use face masks at least twice a month.

Here are some homemade mask recipes you can try at home:

Oatmeal and yogurt face mask
This face mask is suitable for all skin types and is super simple to prepare. It will cleanse and rejuvenate your skin.

Preparatory Time
3 minutes

Ingredients
1 tbsp oatmeal, finely ground
1 tbsp live, organic yogurt (skip the flavoured stuff)
A few drops of honey

Preparation
Add the yogurt to the oatmeal in a small bowl and mix together. Warm a few drop of honey. To do this, warm a spoon under hot water for a minute, then add a few drops of honey to the spoon. Stir the honey into the yogurt and oatmeal mixture.

Apply the mask to the face. Leave it on for 10 minutes, then rinse off with several splashes of warm water. Follow with a warm washcloth. Apply moisturiser.

Egg whites and yogurt mask
This face mask is said to be very “moisturising and soothing.”

Preparatory Time
2 minutes

Ingredients
2 egg whites, separated from the yolk and placed in a bowl
2 tablespoons of plain yogurt (I like Greek yogurt)

Preparation
Separate the egg whites from a couple of eggs and place them in a bowl. Add 2 tablespoons of yogurt (do not use flavoured yogurt!).

Mix them up and apply to face. Leave on face for a few minutes. Then, rinse face in warm water, followed by a warm washcloth.
