An armed robber, who wanted to pull out his gun probably to shoot policemen who were on routine patrol in Enugu State narrowly escaped death and blew off his private parts with his own gun.
A statement from the Police Public Relations Officer in the? State, Ebere Amaraizu which confirmed the incident stated that? the suspect “in a bid to pull out? a locally made pistol that he hid around his waist, mistakenly fired himself on his private part”.
He explained that the suspect has been arrested alongside another by operatives of the New Haven police Division of the Enugu state police command while on the “intensive routine patrol within their jurisdiction”.
“Suspects, who gave their names as Uche onyemauwa of No 1 Ezeani close New Haven Enugu and Uchechukwu Emmanuel of No 11 Lumumba street, New haven Enugu were arrested on 13/08/12 at about 2200hrs at No 54 chime Avenue opposite cardinal photos also in New Haven as the hoodlums were overpowered by the security operatives that promptly acted on a tip off.
“Meanwhile, during the encounter, one of the suspects in a bid to pull out a locally made pistol mistakenly fired blew off his private part. Items recovered from the suspected robbers include one double barrel locally made pistol and a locally made pistol all loaded with live cartridges.
“A full scale investigation into the alleged nefarious activities of the suspected Armed Robbers is in top gear as one of the victims of car snatching and armed robbery has identified the suspects to be the ones that allegedly snatched on gun point, his Toyota Avallon with Reg No BS130RSH on 4/8/12, ” the statement said.
