Osun State chapter of the ruling Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have congratulated Muslims in the state for successfully concluding the 30-day Ramadan fast preceding the Eid-el-fitri festival.
In a goodwill message signed by the ACN Director of Publicity, Research and Strategy, Barrister Kunle Oyatomi on behalf of its chairman, Elder Adelowo Adebiyi wished all Muslims in the state a happy celebration and appealed to them? for peace and harmonious co-existence with their fellow citizens so that the conducive atmosphere for development already created could be sustained.
Elder Adeniyi urged both Muslims and Christians to draw strength from the spiritual atonement which Eid-el-fitri
generates, and the spirit of caring for one’s neighbours which it promotes to cement unity and mutual understanding amongst citizens of the state in particular and Nigerians of all shades of opinions and religious beliefs, in general.
“Any attitude or behaviours which contradicts these high ideals would indicate that offenders have benefited little or nothing from the abundance of blessings which Allah pours out on His faithful who had wholeheartedly participated in and purified themselves of negative dispositions through the fasting period”,he said.
PDP in? a statement by its? Director of Media and Strategy, Prince Diran Odeyemi noted that? Ramadan is very significant among the five pillars of Islam and charged Muslims in the state to ponder on the lessons of Ramadan which include forgiveness, blessing, self-discipline and empathy for the less fortunate.
Odeyemi said, “We wish to remind our Muslim brothers and sister in Osun state to reflect on the lessons of Ramadan and make them a greater part of their daily lives by rededicating themselves to their faith and worship Allah wholeheartedly.
He appealed to Muslims in the state to continue to be their brothers’ keepers and intensify prayers in seeking Allah’s intervention to liberate the state from the tyrants.
“We urged our Muslim brothers and sisters to pray fervently to God to bless our state with visionary leaders that will take it to greater heights”.
