Governor Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu of Niger state has stressed the need for peaceful co-existence among the people of the state irrespective of their tribal, religious or ethnic background.
Dr. Aliyu disclosed this when he received His Lordship, Bishop Isaac Idahosa, the presiding Bishop of God First Ministries International in company of Dr. Ron Kenoly renowned gospel singer from the United States of America in Government House, Minna.
The governor who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Daniel Shashere stated that society can only thrive or witness rapid development when there is love, peace and understanding among the people.
According to the Governor, Niger state remain a peaceful state adding that it leaving no stone unturned in the protection of lives and properties of the indigenes.
He said the present administration in the state will remain resolute in the implementation of programmes and policies that will impact positively on the citizenry under the platform of vision 3: 2020 which is propelling the state to greatness.
Dr. Aliyu enjoined Christians in the state not to relent in supporting the leadership of the state and the country at large with prayers in order to enable them succeed in their official responsibilities.
Earlier in his remarks, Bishop Isaac Idahosa told the Governor that they came to the state to celebrate the 23th anniversary of God First Ministries International in Minna.
Bishop Idahosa enjoined Christians to always reflect on the good leadership qualities of Jesus Christ as well as extol the virtues of love, forgiveness, sacrifice, patience and understanding which were the attributes of the Lord Jesus Christ.
He called on Nigerians to eschew wickedness and violence and embrace the virtues of love, peace and tolerance as exemplified by Jesus Christ.
He offered prayers for God to continue to give the leadership of the state and Nigeria at large the wisdom, good health and strength to continue with the good work they are doing.
