The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), South-West Zone, said on Thursday that the agency was adequately prepared to combat any form of? disaster.
“NEMA is prepared professionally in all wise; we have in our possession an ambulance and helicopter, a ready-to-go rescue team and our first aid care is highly professional.?
“Our life guards and other personnel are ready to go any length to save lives,“Mr Ibrahim Farinloye, the Information Officer of the agency, said while speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos.
He said that the agency was equipped to handle any emergency situation both on land and on water.
Farinloye said that NEMA was also engaged in public enlightenment on ways of managing emergency situations.
The information officer advised picnickers at beaches to be mindful of ocean currents, especially during heavy rains.
“Picnickers in Lagos and other coastal areas should be more alert,'' he said. (NAN)
