The Kogi State commissioner of police, Mr. Muhammadu Katsina, has disclosed that there are over 1,000 AK47 rifles in Okene and its environs.
Katsina, who made this known while speaking with journalists in his office in Lokoja yesterday, however, said that the command would leave no stone unturned until it recovered all dangerous weapons currently in wrong hands in the area.
He further said that the prime suspect of the recent attacks in Okene, now in police custody, was equally selling improvised explosive devices to armed robbers in other states of the federation.
He further assured that those behind the recent violence in Okene would be brought to justice, adding that the girlfriend of the prime suspect of the church killings has also been arrested.
