Nigeria’s women’s U-20 national team, The Falconets, this morning defeated the Azurri ladies from Italy in the final Group B match of the ongoing FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Japan.
A Francisca Ordega hat-trick saw Nigeria cruise into quarter-finals with a 4-0 victory over Italy to top Group B.
Two goals in each half saw Nigeria to a comfortable victory in Kobe with the result never in doubt once Ordega opened the scoring nine minutes from half-time.
Ordega scored twice in quick succession just prior to the interval before completing her treble just two minutes into the second stanza.
Substitute Osarenoma Igbinovia iced the cake with a fourth a few minutes from full time as Nigeria booked a quarter-final meeting with either Japan or New Zealand.
