The Pharaohs of Egypt are looking forward to a friendly with Nigeria’s Super Eagles on September 11. The Pharaohs assistant coach, Diaa El-Sayed was quoted by reports in Egypt confirming the friendly with Nigeria. “Egypt will play two friendlies against Benin and Nigeria on September 7 and 11 respectively,” according to El-Sayed.
The proposed friendly against Egypt comes just three days after Nigeria face Liberia in the first leg of the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations qualification in Monrovia. After being knocked out of the 2013 AFCON by Central Africa Republic, Egypt are preparing for the 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifiers with a handful of friendly games including the Nigerian tie. Both teams met in a tune-up in Dubai on April 12 this year and Egypt won 3-2.
