The Caretaker Committee of ?Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) in Kano State plans to undertake a reconciliation ?tour of the 44 local government areas, the Chairman, Dr Mohammad Abubakar, said.
Abubakar announced the plan in Kano on Tuesday while briefing newsmen on preparations by the party to open its new state office in Kano on Wednesday.
The ?party's presidential candidate in the 2011 election, Alhaji Muhammadu Buhari, is expected to declare open the new ?office, located on Maiduguri Road, Kano.?
“Following the giant effort made by the caretaker committee to reconcile all the factional leadership of the party in the state, we have also planned to reach out to our members at the grassroots,’’ Abubakar said.
According to him, the caretaker committee has already held reconciliatory meetings with most of the various groups, including aspirants and other critical stakeholders in the party.
“This is with a view to ensuring that there is one CPC in Kano State and all major players of the party come together to fight a common cause,’’ he said.
Abubakar called on all the party members in the state to give the caretaker committee the necessary support and cooperation to move the party forward. (NAN)
