Ahead of the October Governorship election in Ondo State, the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Bamanaga Tukur, has waded into the crisis rocking the Ondo State chapter of the party.
Since the nomination of the former National Legal Adviser of the PDP, Chief Olusola Oke as the party’s flagbearer for the election, most of the stakeholders have been accusing each other of working for the re-election of the incumbent governor, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko of the Labour Party.
At the Legacy House secretariat of the PDP In Abuja, yesterday, however, PDP National Chairman after an exhaustive four hour meeting with stakeholders from the state, constituted a seven- man committee with the task of delivering the state to the PDP in October’s guber poll.
Announcing the membership of the committee, the national organising secretary of the PDP, Alhaji Mustapha Abubakar, said that he was optimistic that the committee would strive to heal all wounds and assuage all grievances so as to retrieve power from Mimiko.
Members of the committee include former Governor Segun Agagu, Otunba Niyi Fasowe, Bode Olajumoke and Chief Segun Adegoke. Others are Mobolaji Oshomo and Dr Adeyemi.
