The wife of the abducted Monarch of the Okordia clan in Ikarama community of Yenagoa Local Government Area of Bayelsa State,Mrs. Evelyn Seiba, was weekend arrested by the men of the State Police command? over her recent telephone conversation with the gang of unknown kidnappers.

Family sources ?told LEADERSHIP that the arrest ?was tagged “invitation” and based on her interaction with the unknown kidnappers over the issue of ransom.

It gathered that the kidnappers had called the first son of the traditional ruler, Glory Seiba ,on his mobile phone a few days ago telling him to come to a bush at Kaiama, in Kolokuma/Opokuma local government of the state ?to give them an unspecified sum.

Glory went to the location ?with some soldiers ,but sensing danger, the kidnappers cleverly dodged the traditional ruler’s son to avoid arrest.
The 70-year-old King Seiba was abducted by some gun wielding men at his Ikarama residence on August 25.

Barely four days after his abduction ?,the kidnappers established contact with the King’s wife, Evelyn Seiba ?demanding for N30m ransom? before he could be? released. During a phone ?negotiation ?with the? King’s family ,the kidnappers reduced the ransom to N15m.

When ?contacted ?yesterday , the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Fidelis Odunna(DSP) confirmed the invitation of the King’s wife ?by the Police? to leadership but said ?she was not under interrogation, “she is assisting the Police in their investigations”.

Odunna assured that the kidnappers would soon be tracked down to enable the Paramount ruler regain his freedom,adding that no arrest had been effected on the kidnap incident,“They are trying to be smart, but ,we are smarter than them. We will soon track them,” the PPRO said .
