The Joint Task Force (JTF) in Borno saying it raided the residence of the key Boko Haram commander in Maiduguri on Monday recovering a lot of items.
In a statement signed and made available to LEADERSHIP by the JTF Spokesman, Lt Col Sagir Musa, the force conducted a follow-up operationat the residence of a wanted key commander of Boko Haram in Bulunkutu-Lawanti area in Maiduguri.
The items recovered were three AK 47 rifles, 306 x 7.62mm special ammunition, 39 Primed IED cans, six empty magazines, 1 HP laptop computers containing précis for the preparation of IEDs and chemical weapons, a notebook register containing names of Boko Haram members indicating those already dead, 54 assorted SIM cards, 40 IED remote control gagdets, 20 assorted electrical switches, 50 Q-link motorcycle battery chargers, 20 assorted torchlight batteries and 1 RPG bomb fuse.
According to the statement, “the Task Force wishes to thank members of the public particularly our moles in Boko Haram for giving the information that contributed to the success of the operation.”
