The family of the murdered Cynthia Osokogu arrived Lagos yesterday to take possession of her body preparatory to her burial slated for today.
The burial, according to a source, will take place in her hometown, Bebe, in Ovia Agbor Area of Delta State.
A source, however, said the police were yet to hand over the corpse to the family, because the autopsy report had not been received.
Late Miss Osokogu met her untimely death on July 22 in the hands of her killer friends, Nwabuzor Okwumo and Chidera Ezike, whom she met through Blackberry messenger, a social media platform.?
The Lagos Police commissioner, Umar Manko has stated that the two new suspects, Nonso Ezike and Gideon Okechukwu, who were arrested in connection with the gruesome murder of Cynthia Osokogu, would be tried soon.
Reports reaching LEADERSHIP revealed that the two suspects may be tried on Monday, September 10.
Manko said, “The suspects will be arraigned in court soon. The police will not relent until all the suspects involved in the case are arrested.? I want to warn phone users to desist from buying stolen phones.
“What these people do is that after stealing these phones, they will flash the phones and remove all the details of the owners of the phone. That is what they did with Cynthia’s phone but we got her pin which cannot be destroyed. So people should be wary of the phones they buy as these can be stolen property.”
Manko added, “Gideon Okechukwu is believed to be the man who conveys the suspects to all their destinations. He is helping us with our investigation.”
