Niger State Governor Dr MuazuBabangidaAliyu has not taken decision on the widely speculated ambition to run for the 2015 presidential election.
The declaration is coming on the heels of the widespread speculation that Governor Aliyu alongside incumbent Vice President Namadi Sambo, Senate President David Mark, Jigawa State Governor Lamido Sanusi and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar? were contenders for the Peoples’ Democratic Party 2015 presidential ticket.The? governor through the Commissioner for Information and Strategy Danladi Abdulhamid said in Minna? yesterday that Governor Aliyu is yet to made a decision on what role to play in the 2015 politics because Dr Aliyu believes that “power belongs to God and mandate belong to the people”.
He however, said that Aliyu believes that “whatever the people want him to become in 2015 that is what he will do’ because ‘he is a man of the people.”
Abdulhamid said the governor is focused on delivering dividends of democracy to the people and building structures that would make the state one of the three best states in the country by the year 2020.
On? the call for the impeachment of the governor by a group that called itself Concerned Indigenes of Niger State,? Abdulhamid said members of the group are ignorant of the law and developments in the state.
He posited that Niger State House of Assembly is composed of credible and well enlightened people who will not just take decision on the ground of mere allegations.
