Nasarawa State chapter of the Action congress of Nigeria (ACN), yesterday said that it is set to sweep the forth coming local government election in the state.
In statement signed by the publicity secretary of the party, Mu’azu Sama’ila, said that tremendous achievements have been recorded through the peace initiative embarked upon by the party’s acting chairman, Bashir Jabiru Mohammed.
Mu’azu said: “Other achievements of Barr. Bashir’s leadership include, acquisition of vehicle decorated with ACN emblem to make publicity, ease party activities and movement of members canvassing for votes against forthcoming Local Government elections, opening of seven new local government party offices to facilitate grass root politics.
“Above all, negotiation is in top gear for new state party secretariat that is of higher standard than the one confiscated from us during the reigns of former chairman due to non-payment of rent.
He debunked as rumour information that the relationship between the acting chairman and his deputy, Mrs. Ann Dogonyaro, had gone sour, adding that the acting chairman and his deputy were both members of the state party faction before reconciliation process which united the two factions together.
The party blamed the setback during the 2011 election on the leadership crises that engulfed its ranks prior to the election.
