The police on Friday arraigned two drivers, Ibrahim Adamu, 23, and Bala Umaru, 18, before an Abuja Chief Magistrates’ Court for alleged theft.
The drivers ply their trade at the Jabi Motor Park in Utako District, Abuja.
Prosecutor Sani Yusuf told the court that the case was reported on Sept. 14 at Mabushi Police Station by one Insp. Joseph Biyabna of the FCT Command, Abuja.
Yusuf said that the accused persons were caught vandalising a Honda Prelude car parked at Mabushi Express Road.
He alleged that they stole some valuables, including a bag, a blue tooth player, cell phone batteries and a car stereo valued at N19, 000.
He?said that the offence contravened?Section 287 of the Penal Code.
The Chief Magistrate, Mr Musa Jobbo, granted bail to the accused in the sum of?N20, 000 each with a surety each in like sum.
Jobbo ordered that the surety should reside within the court’s jurisdiction.
He adjourned the case to Oct. 3, for further hearing. (NAN)
