The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) local government primaries scheduled to hold on Saturday across Benue has been shifted to Sunday. ?
This is contained in a statement signed by Dr Emmanuel Agbo, the state Chairman of the party, in Makurdi on Saturday. ?
According to the statement, the postponement is necessary to tackle? logistic issues which are ?capable of preventing? the smooth conduct of the polls. ?
It further assured members of the party that their? wishes as would be expressed by their votes would be respect, noting that candidates would not be imposed on them. ?
The statement also advised delegates to be law abiding and conduct themselves in accordance with the laid down rules? governing the party primaries. ?
It, therefore, enjoined the aspirants to accept the outcome of? the primaries in good faith and stressed that the contest which was “just? a test of their popularity, should never be viewed as a do or die? affair''. (NAN)
