Gov. Idris Wada of Kogi on Saturday warned people of Ibaji Local Government from taking laws into their hands over agitation on oil well in the community.
Wada in a press statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media, Mr Jacob Edi, warned members of the Ibaji community not to take laws into their hands.
The statement urged them to protect the installations and assets of the Orient Petroleum Oil facilities in the community.
According to the statement, Kogi and Anambra have the same status with the oil company concerning the oil well.
“The two states are both investors,’’ it stated.
It urged the people?to ignore all provocative pronouncements or actions from any quarter.
The statement said that Wada appealed to them to be law abiding as all matters concerning the oil well had been reported to the appropriate quarters.
It restated the State Government’s confidence in the ability of the Federal Government to resolve ?the issues.
“There is no need for anyone to resort to acrimonious language or violence on the matter.’’ (NAN)
