The Peoples` Democratic Party (PDP) says it will set up zonal reconciliation committees to ensure that aggrieved ?party members?return to?the fold.
This is contained in a statement signed by the PDP National Chairman, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur, and made available?to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Thursday in Abuja.
The decision? was part of resolution adopted at the party`s National Executive Council (NEC) meeting on Wednesday.??
According to the statement, the reconciliation committees will handle lingering disagreements within the party to ensure a more united party.
The statement noted that the party`s umbrella was big enough to accommodate all aggrieved party members, who left the party or were not actively involved in party's activities.
It called on?these party members to return to the party through their wards within 30 days from now.
“The ward chairmen and secretaries should register such returning members without inhibitions.
“Anyone not allowed to go through this process should report such hindrance to the next level up to the national secretariat,’’ ?the statement added
The statement called on the party National Vice Chairmen to ensure compliance. (NAN)
