Eighteen fuel-laden ships are waiting to berth and discharge their contents at the various oil terminals in Lagos ports, the Nigerian Ports? Authority (NPA) has said.
In its daily publication, “the Shipping Position’’, made available to newsmen in Lagos on Wednesday, the NPA said that out of the 18 ships, 13 ships were laden with petrol.
It said that two other ships were carrying aviation fuel, while three others were carrying kerosene.
According to the document, the terminals where the ships would berth include Atlas Cove Jetty, New Oil Jetty, Single Buoy Mooring, Integrated and Ibafon Jetties.
The NPA said that five other ships, laden with rice, bulk wheat and general cargoes, were waiting to berth at the ports.
It said that 89 ships would be arriving at the terminals between Sept. 25 and Oct. 30.
The document reported that the ships would sail in with fish, rice, steel products, used and new vehicles, bulk wheat, steel products, general cargoes, petrol, kerosene and diesel.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that other cargoes to be brought in by the ships are bulk gypsum, containers, bulk malt and base oil.
