Equities traded on the Nigerian Stock Exchange on Wednesday ended on negative note with some highly capitalised companies recording price depreciation.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the All-Share Index, which opened at 25,947.60, depreciated by 173.07 points or 0.67 per cent to close at N25,774.53 points.
Similarly, market capitalistion of all listed stocks dropped by N55 billion to close at N8.206 trillion as against N8.261 trillion recorded on Tuesday.
NewGold led the loser’s chart with a loss of N42 to close at N2,679 per unit.
UACN followed dropping with N2.80 to close at N41 per share while International Breweries fell by N1.31 to close at N12.10 per share.
Julius Berger and FlourMills depreciated by N1.30 each to close at N27.50 and N67.70 per share respectively.
On the other hand, Lafarge WAPCO led the price gainers chart with N1 to close at N57 per share.
Asahaka Cement trailed with 54K to close at N15 per share while Unilever grew with 20k to close at N38.20 per share.
The Dangote Flour and Dangote Sugar share prices appreciated by N17k each to close at N8.65 and N4.99 per share respectively.
Investors bought 313.51 million shares worth N2.6 billion traded in 5,262 deals as against 472.01 million shares valued at N3.8 billion traded in 4,978 deals transacted on Tuesday.
