The National President of Integrity Icons Organization, Comrade Pelumi Olajengbesi, has given reasons why it named the organisation’s? leadership series after the Chairman and Editor-in-Chief of LEADEERSHIP Newspapers Group, Mr. Sam Nda-Isaiah, saying that its choice of? Mr. Nda-Isaiah was informed by his strong leadership values, discipline and patriotism.
The group made this known yesterday? when it paid a courtesy visit to the corporate headquarters of the newspaper group, in Abuja.
Comrade Olajengbesi, who led a seven-man delegation to Mr. Nda-Isaiah, said:? “The Leadership Series will serve as an avenue to infuse strong leadership values and culture to our youths whose get-rich-quick syndrome has become alarming over the years.”
He remarked that riding exotic cars is the obsession of the young peoples these days, neglecting the values of good conduct and honest work.
Speaking about their organization, Comrade Olajengbesi said that “the vision of the organization is to emancipate the people of Nigeria who are suffering untold hardship caused solely by the poverty of our leaders. Therefore this organisation’s initiative is focused on leadership empowerment especially on the youths”.
He expressed his belief that it will profit the nation greatly if the youths become leadership conscious.
“The leadership training and induction will help to sanitize our value system which has been bastardized by poor leadership,”? he said,? even as he implored well meaning Nigerians to join the band wagon of becoming mentors to young people.
The group was received by the General Manager, Abdulmumin Balogun, and the Group News Editor Hameed Bello.
In his response, Balogun applauded their initiative, and assured them that Mr Nda-Isaiah would appreciate the honour, especially since their goal was a worthy one.
He told them that Mr. Nda-Isaiah loves young people with great dreams and initiative, especially when it has to do with the welfare and well-being of the nation, and promised to pass on all their message to the Chairman/Editor- in-Chief.
