Mr Isa Akanbi, Ondo State Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), has warned students to shun violence and political thuggery during the Oct. 20, governorship election.
Akanbi, who gave the advise in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Tuesday in Akure that it was part of their mandate to ensure that there was violence free during the election.
“As a student, it is important to participate in the day-to-day activities of government in your various environments, but dot not create violence.
“Students are to see themselves as tomorrow leaders and not to be used as instrument of regression in the forth coming election’’, he said.
He added that the state government had released two additional vehicles to the corps to make its job of monitoring easier.
He also promised that the corps would ensure the safety of lives and property in the state advised politicians to maintain peace and order during the election.
Akanbi said NSCDC had a?cordial relationship with other security agencies in the state, stressing that they would work together to prevent any form of violence during the Oct. 20 governorship election in Ondo State. (NAN)
