The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) says the appointment of its Group General Manager, NNPC Greenfield Refineries, Mr Adebayo Ibirogba, as the Vice President, World Liquefied Petroleum Gas Association (WLPGA), is a welcome development.
A statement by Mr Fidel Pepple, the NNPC’s Acting Group General Manager, Public Affairs Division, on Wednesday, in Abuja, said that the appointment would impact positively on the nation’s gas growth and development.
Pepple recalled that Ibirogba’s appointment was ratified at the recently concluded WLPGA Annual Forum in Bali, Indonesia, and took effect from September.
He described Ibirogba as a seasoned engineer with years of experience in the oil and gas industry who had represented the NNPC in the association’s industry council.
Pepple further said that Ibirogba had the requisite experience in project engineering, refining, petrochemicals, and international trading, among other things.
The newly appointed vice president is a registered member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, the British Institute of Management and the Energy Institute of the UK.
