The US-Nigeria Infrastructure Conference, a mega summit that will involve who is who in the world will begin at the Washington Marriot Wardman Park Hotel, Washington DC on Wednesday.

According to the Nigeria's Ambassador to the United States, Prof. Ade Adefuye, the mega summit which will have the attendance of well over six Federal Ministers and about five state governors, is taking place as a way of building the infrastructure for Nigeria's Vision 20:2020.

Adefuye told newsmen during a parley in Washington DC that the Honorable Minister of Works, Mr. Mike Onolememen, will be discussing Vision 20:2020, Nigeria's economic blueprint, stressing that this plan aims to place Nigeria among the top 20 largest world economies by the year 2020, with a GDP of 900 Billion US Dollars.

The Ambassador further said that Nigeria expects to attract 130 Billion Dollars in private capital over the next ten years as it builds up to achieve its goals.

His words: “President Goodluck Jonathan's Transformation agenda is tailored to achieve Vision 20:2020. This transformative agenda focuses on good governance, infrastructure, human capital development, jobs creation, better resources management, elimination of corruption and sustained economic development”

Also, Trade and Investment Minister, Mr. Olusegun Aganga, will discuss the necessary policies and programs that his Ministry has enacted in order to attract capital and foreign direct investment and create a friendly business climate.

Apart from Ministers Mike Onolememen and Olusegun Aganga, other that will be speaking at the mega event are the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Mr. Olugbenga Ashiru, Ambassador Adebowale Adefuye, the Nigeria's Ambassador to the US, Mr. Stephen Hayes, President of the Corporate Council on Africa, Ambassador Johnie Carson, US Assistant Secretary on Africa Affairs.

Others Ministers are the Senator Idris Umar, Mrs Stella Oduah, Senator Bala Mohammed, Mrs Ama Pepple, Mrs Sarah Reng Ochekpe, Mrs Omobola Johnson, Arc Musa Sada who are Ministers for Transport, Aviation, FCT, Land, Housing and Urban Development, Water Resources, Communication Technology and Mines, Steel and Solid Minerals respectively.

Apart from this, the Governors of Benue, Kaduna, Rivers, Lagos, Kano, Anambra, Gombe and Nasarawa States, Dr. Gabriel Suswam, Patrick Yakowa, Rotimi Amaechi, Babatunde Fashola, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, Peter Obi, Ibrahim Dankwambo and Umaru Tanko Al-Makura respectively will be speaking during Governors' Roundtable.

Other panelists at the events are the Mr. James Biden, younger brother of the US Vice President, Engineers Mansur Ahmed, Gabriel Amuchi and Ishaq Mohammed.
