Former Super Eagles midfielder Garba Lawal has said that there no longer small teams in African football as most Nigerians fans were happy that the Super Eagles were put in an easy group, but Lawal also its is a favourable draw as the draw for the 2013 Nations Cup was made in South Africa on Wednesday. The Super Eagles of Nigeria were grouped with African champions Zambia,Ethiopia and Burkina Faso.
Lawal revealed in an exclusive chat with LEADERSHIP SPORTS,he said:it was a favourable draw but the Super Eagles should not take any team for granted as they are no longer small teams ?in Africa, all the teams coming to the Nations Cup are coming with the intention of winning the trophy’

‘’In the last Nations Cup nobody expected Zambia to win as they were not even among the favourites, every team is preparing seriously, there are no pushovers, we should not take Burkina Faso and Ethiopia lightly because every team that qualified for this Nations did so because they deserved to qualify. But I believe we have the players who can deliver and I hope they deliver’’
?
There are already talks of Super Eagles winning the Nations Cup for the third time but Lawal believes it’s too early to start talking about that, he said: Lets wait and see, lets qualify for the quarter finals from there let’s see how it goes because in the knockout stage anything can happen ‘’.
