As fuel scarcity bits harder in Lagos metroolis , the Lagos State Government yesterday treatened to seal off any petrol station found to be hoarding fuel in the state .?
The Commissioner for Energy and Mineral Resources, Engineer Taofiq Tijani who dangled issued the threat during a fact finding and inspection tour of some filling stations in the State appealed to fuel marketers operating in the State not to hoard petroleum products in their facilities.?
The Commissioner, represented by the Director of Finance and Administration, Mrs. Jokotola Ojosipe –Ogundimu, who led the monitoring team to some filling stations in the State, urged? fuel marketers with petroleum products not to hide under the guise of the current scarcity experienced across the country? to indulge in sharp practices which tend to surcharge motorists and the unsuspecting? members of the? public.?
The Commissioner advised customers to report any filling Station hoarding or selling petroleum products above the recommended price to his office assuring that he would channel such complaints to the appropriate authorities.?
The Monitoring team who lamented that most of the filling stations inspected do not have fuel? to sell to the public advised Lagosians to report any filling Stations hoarding or selling petroleum products above the recommended price in their area to the state government.?
