Governor of Niger State Muazu Babangida Aliyu, has urged politicians seeking for elective and appointive offices in 2015 to leave their anbition to God.
Aliyu in his Sallah broadcast yesterday to the people of the state, said: “We believe infinitely that Allah will lead us alright in 2015.
We should therefore avoid utterances and actions that will create unnecessary rancour and animosity among us. Let us leave the future to Allah.
“My administration will continue to run an inclusive, transparent and accountable government in our drive towards making Niger State more prosperous and? a home of pride, happiness and fulfilment for the present and future generations.”
Aliyu noted with delight the individual and collective efforts and contributions of the people toward the actualisation of the vision of the state, adding that the state government was aware that the people “are important stakeholders in the governance project.”
The governor also sympathised with the displaced persons of the devastating flood in some communities in the state and pointed out that government feels the pains of those who lost their property and loved ones in the disaster.
He pledged that the state government would ensure that relief materials and financial resources released to cushion the effects of the floods by the state and federal governments reach them.
