The Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Aloma Maryam Mukhtar will today administer the oath of office on the newly appointed 12 Justices of the Court of Appeal at the Supreme Court.
The Justices are: Ibrahim S. Bdliya, Abiriya James Shehu, Obietonbara O. Daniel-Kalio, Ifeoma Jombo-Ofo, Onyekachi Otisi, Stephen Jonah Adah, Tinuade Akomolaje-Wilson and Fatima O. Akinbami.
In a press statement,? the deputy director of press and information of the apex court, Akande Aweneri Festus, said others are Justices Habeeb Adewale Abiru, Peter Olabisi Ige, Tijani Abubakar and Emmanuel Agim.
Meanwhile a university Don, Dr Muhammad Jaju Abubakar, has advised? President Goodluck Jonathan to hasten the confirmation of the appointment of the Acting President of the Court of Appeal, Justice Adamu Dalhatu.
Dr Abubakar, a lecturer at the Chemical Engineering Department of the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, who made the appeal in a statement sent to media houses, said the call to confirm the Acting President has become necessary to save the Judiciary from collapse and to sustain the known unity among members of the law family.
The University Don described as unfortunate a situation where the learned professionals would allow the removal of one of their members, for whatsoever reason; threaten their cohesion, unity and development of their noble profession.
