An automobile?mechanic, Stephen Nwanke,18,?who was traced by a phone he allegedly stole, was on Tuesday in Lagos arraigned.
alleged burglary and theft of valuables worth N318, 000.
The accused, who resides at 7 Orile Iganmu Road, Orile appeared before an Ikeja Magistrates' Court, charged with break-in and stealing valuables worth N318.
According to the prosecutor, Insp Benson Emuerhi, the accused broke into a room at 5, Abule Odi Close, Orile Iganmu, through?a window.
He alleged that the accused stole a Bold 5 Blackberry phone, a laptop, a wristwatch and N50,000 cash, all property of Mr Stephen Ibeh.
Emuerhi told the court that the accused was apprehended with the aid of the tracking device on the Blackberry phone he stole.
He said that the offences were committed at 12.30 a.m. on July 15.
The prosecutor said that the offences contravened Sections 285 and 306, Criminal Code, Laws of Lagos State, 2011.
However, the accused pleaded not guilty to the two-count charge.
Magistrate E.O Ogunkanmi granted him bail in the sum of N100, 000 with two sureties in like sum.
He adjourned the case to Nov. 30, for mention. (NAN)
