Trader Arraigned For Allegedly Pulling Man’s Private Part

A 42-year-old trader, Abdul Bello, was on Tuesday arraigned before a Surulere Magistrates' Court, Lagos, for allegedly pulling the private part of a man while fighting.

Police prosecutor Adefisayo Adesida told the court that the accused on Aug. 10, unlawfully assaulted one Adesola Salami by hitting her with an object on the face and causing her injury on the right eye.

Adesida said the assault was as a result of a quarrel between the two, adding that Bello also transferred his anger on one Ganiyu Salami, who came to settle them.

“In the process, the accused pulled Salami’s private part and gave him a bite on the shoulder.’’

The prosecutor said that the offence contravened Section 171 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Lagos State.

The accused, a resident of Surulere, who is facing a one-count charge of assault, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

Magistrate A.O. Soladoye granted the accused bail in the sum of N50,000 with two sureties in like sum, and adjourned the case to Dec. 5 for mention. (NAN)
