The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal has said that there was no rift between the House and the Presidency. This was just as he said that members of the lower legislative chamber remained committed to the welfare of Nigerians.
Making the clarification when he led the leadership of the House on a courtesy visit to the Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP) National Chairman, Dr. Bamaga Tukur and members of the National Working Committee (NWC), Tambuwal said that the misconception that the debates on proposals sent to the House? by the executive arm was an effort to detour? the government was unfounded.
He explained that, so far, all the requests and proposals from the executive arm had scaled through in the House, even if the passage was subjected to rigorous debates.
“On our part as members of this great party in the House of Representatives, we have been and we shall continue to do what is good for the good governance and orderly administration of the government of the federal republic of Nigeria.
“I would want to report and place it on record that we are working harmoniously with the executive arm of government.”
