Kano State Police Command, yesterday, said that the armed robbers who invaded and carted away large sums of money from Wapa Bureau de Change at Fagge last Tuesday disguised as customers before launching their attack on the operators.
The graphic account of how the armed robbers attacked the operators was given in a press statement by the Kano Command’s Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Magaji Musa Majiya.
ASP Magaji said that while it was pertinent to note that WAPA is not a conventional market as it was? made up of residential houses, the robbers succeeded in gaining entry as they came from behind the area and walked to the house posing as customers.
“They quietly entered and locked the house where transaction was going on and subsequently trekked to where they parked their motor cycle and Golf car and melted into the nooks and crannies of Fagge Quarters, ASP Magaji said in the release, and added that immediately after the robbery, they fired in the air to scare people away and make good their escape.
