Gunmen, yesterday, wreaked havoc in Kaduna and Bauchi states when two policemen and other civilians were killed in an orgy of bloodshed.
In Kaduna, the gunmen riding on a motorbike shot and killed one police officer, Corporal Bejamin Sule and one other civilian, Mr Nnamani Daniel in Sabon Gari Local Government of Kaduna State.
The gunmen also injured two others persons before leaving the scene.
Nnamdi, LEADERSHIP gathered, was before his death the director of Cosmopolitan Hotel, located at Uche road, Sabon Gari, Zaria.
LEADERSHIP checks revealed that the gunmen launched an attack on the hotel between the hours of 10:00p.m to 11 pm Saturday night.
Eyewitness told LEADERSHIP on condition of anonymity, that the gunmen arrived the hotel on a motorbike and opened fire on the affected victims.
Confirming the incident, the Kaduna State Police Command Public Relations Officer, DSP Aminu Lawal said investigation into the matter was ongoing.
In Bauchi, a police Inspector attached to the Bauchi Government House, Mr Babangida Danbaba was, yesterday, shot dead by yet to be identified gunmen.
It was gathered that the well armed bandits attacked the inspector in the morning while he was coming back from mosque and opened fire on him.
A source who spoke to LEADERSHIP on condition of anonymity said “Babangida went to a nearby mosque to observe Morning Prayer and after the prayer, he left the mosque and was going back home when he was gunned down by the hoodlums”.
Danbaba who was one of the police men attached to Government House Bauchi has since been buried according to Islamic rite.
When contacted, the Bauchi state Police Commisoner, Mohammed Ladan confirmed the incident on telephone interview.
